<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a transmitting source to recognize the quality of sound/image data that is being reproduced by a receiving side. <P>SOLUTION: In respective clients A 111 and B 121 of a video conference system, quality information collecting parts 114 and 124 generate quality information showing the receiving data of the sound/image data transmitted from the opposite party, the generated quality information is transmitted to the transmitting side device, and quality display parts 112 and 122 display the quality information transmitted from the opposite party.
