<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording material which is almost free from a texture fog and shows outstanding shelf stability, and a developer which can be best-suitably used in the thermosensitive recording material. <P>SOLUTION: This developer contains a 2,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone as a principal component. The 2,4'-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone and a 4,4-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone are in the weight ratio of 90:10 to 100:0. In addition, the developer having the content of phenol sulfonic acid phenolate, to the total amount of both chemical compounds, which is 1.5 wt% or less and a chromophoric dye are dispersed in a dispersing medium. Thus, a dispersion is prepared, then applied to the surface of a support and dried. Consequently, the thermosensitive recording material with a thermosensitive color developing layer containing the developer and the chromophoric dye formed on the support, is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
