<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bat wherein impact resistance and durability are improved without causing a crack or breakage of a wooden material, as the bat made of a composite material which is formed by using the wooden material for a ball hit part, and a different base material such as an FRP material or a metallic material for a bat body. <P>SOLUTION: The lower end 5c of a ball hitting outer shell part 5, which is the joint surface of the ball hitting outer shell part 5 in the longitudinal direction of the bat, faces the upper end 6b of a taper part 3 in the bat body 6, on a boundary part 8.
