PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laboratory system enabling a user to find an image which the user wants to watch when the user acquires much digital image data. SOLUTION: The laboratory system 10 is provided with a developing machine 14 for developing a photographic film; an image reading means for imaging the images of the film which is developed by the machine 14 or has already been developed, and converting the images into digital image data; and a writing means for writing the data into an external storage medium. The writing means writes the digital image data to be outputted from the image reading means into the external storage medium 26, and writes the thumbnail images of the film images into an external storage medium for thumbnail image.
