PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display device which realizes low power consumption display, and electronic equipment provided therewith. SOLUTION: During standby, an electro-optical device 1 makes only the 2nd data line driving circuit 52G operate among the 1st to 3rd data line driving circuits 52R, 52G, 52B while making the 1st and 3rd data line driving circuits 52R, 52B stop operating, and thus only unit pixels 5G are selectively driven among the unit pixels 5R, 5G, 5B composing pixels 5.
