PRESS MOLDING METHOD OF GLASS AND APPARATUS FOR PREVENTION OF PRESS TROUBLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press molding method of glass and an apparatus for prevention of press troubles so as to prevent troubles in a press molding process using a combination of a bottom die and a side die as a female die. SOLUTION: The following processes are repeated in the press molding method. The processes comprises steps of mounting and engaging a shell ring 3 on the upper face of a bottom 30 constituting the press molding apparatus to constitute a female die; supplying a fused glass block into the female die; pressing the fused glass block supplied to the die with a plunger to mold the block into a molded body; disassembling the shell ring 3 from the bottom 30; and taking the glass molded body out of the bottom 30. When the shell ring 3 mounted on the upper face of the bottom 30 is out of the specified position, the misplacement is detected by a sensor 28 and the press molding apparatus is stopped.
