PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a precise temperature control by preventing the erroneous ignition or extinction of a switching means for applying AC voltage to a heater. SOLUTION: The current-carrying method to the heater is switched between a general phase control and an intermittent phase control according a heater output request value, and the pulse width of ON signal to the switching means for applying AC voltage to the heater is set to a minimum width value ensuring ON of the switching means. According to this, the erroneous ignition or extinction of the switching means can be prevented to enable the precise temperature control and an extensive heater output. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
