PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent corrected image and to increase a processing speed in performing white balance correction on a YCC space. SOLUTION: A YCC converting means 32 of a DVD player 3 converts image data D read by a reading means 30 from a CD-R or a DVD-R of a recording medium 2 into YCC image data P (Y, Cb, Cr) of 720×480 pixels which is suitable for television display. A reducing means 34 reduces the data P to obtain reduced YCC image data P1 of 120×80 pixels, and an RGB converting means 36 converts the reduced YCC image data into RGB data to obtain reduced RGB image data D1. A correction amount calculating means 38 calculates correction amountsΔR,ΔG andΔB by using the reduced RGB image data D1, and an LUT creating means 40 creates nine one-dimensional LUTs according to a formula (14). A processing means 50 applies the nine one-dimensional LUTs created by the means 40 to the YCC image data P, and performs adding processing shown in a formula (15) to obtain target YCC image data P' which have been subjected to white balance correction.
