WATER-BASED INK, METHOD FOR INKJET RECORDING, INK CARTRIDGE, INKJET WRITING UNIT AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water-based pigment ink improving fretting resistance for printing stains and marker resistance for the printing stains and eliminating jetting bending or wetting nonjetting while having reliability of the ink for a recording head with a slight difference of printing density after printing especially by the kind of paper and affording high-density prints in inkjet recording using the pigment ink.

SOLUTION: The water-based ink comprises a modified pigment having organic groups chemically bound to the surfaces of pigment particles and an aqueous medium as a dispersion medium for the pigment. The organic groups contain a reaction product of functional groups bound directly or chemically through other atomic groups to the pigment surfaces with a copolymer. Furthermore, the copolymer is composed of (a) an ionic monomer, (b) a hydrophobic monomer and (c) a monomer containing a fluorine and/or a monomer having a siloxane chain. A method for inkjet recording, etc., are provided.
