摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To address the drawbacks of the prior art by providing a direct modulation optical transmitter system which uses highly nonlinear fiber for compensating for transmitter frequency chirp. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical transmitter 100 for compensating signal distortion, the optical transmitter 100 is provided with: an input for receiving a signal 10; a laser driver 110 for amplifying and/or waveform-shaping the signal; a distributed feedback laser diode 120 coupled to the laser driver 110 for modulating the signal; a highly nonlinear fiber 130 coupled to the distributed feedback laser diode 120 for compensating the signal distortion caused by the laser diode 120; and an output for sending the signal to a transmission fiber 140. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
