<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter which can circulate power individually between one power converter and a DC energy accumulating element and between the DC energy accumulating element and another power converter. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter is equipped with an AC/DC converter 61 which is connected to an AC power source and performs AC power/DC power conversion, a DC energy accumulating element 7 which is connected to the DC side of this AC/DC converter 61, and an inverter 8 which converts DC power into AC power lying between this DC energy accumulating element 7 and AC load. Furthermore, the power converter is constituted so that the effective power capacity that the AC/DC converter 61 can circulate may be larger than the effective power capacity that the inverter 8 can circulate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
