PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a growth promoter of intestinal bifidobacterium using a sucrase inhibitor, a food or a beverage for growth promotion of intestinal bifidobacterium and to provide a method for using the sucrase inhibitor for growth promotion of intestinal bifidobacterium.

SOLUTION: The growth promotion of intestinal bifidobacterium comprises the sucrase inhibitor and sucrose (sugar or sugar-containing food or beverage) as active ingredients. The food or beverage for growth promotion of intestinal bifidobacterium comprises the sucrase inhibitor and sucrose (sugar or sugar-containing food or beverage). The method for using the sucrase inhibitor comprises ingesting the sucrase inhibitor simultaneously with or before the intake of sucrose (sugar or sugar-containing food or beverage) for growth promotion of intestinal bifidobacterium.
