<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device for a vehicle obtaining high output from a drive motor without increasing the size of a high potential battery or the drive motor. <P>SOLUTION: The power supply device for a vehicle 1 comprises: a high potential battery 11 and a low potential battery 12; a first and second switches S1, S2 for switching between a state where electric power is supplied to the drive motor M only from the high potential battery 11 and a state where the high potential battery 11 is connected to low potential battery 12 in series to supply the electric power from the batteries to the drive motor M; an operation state detecting means 14 for detecting an operation state of the vehicle; and a control apparatus 15 for controlling the first and second switches S1, S2 to make the high potential battery 12 is connected with low potential battery 12 in series, when the operation state detected by the operation state detecting means 14 is at a time of engine start. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
