PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector insertion method allowing a connector for inspection to be inserted into an inspection device with a high probability and capable of surely detecting an insertion failure without damaging the connector. SOLUTION: The connector insertion method is provided with a procedure of holding a product connector with a conveying tool in free movement, a procedure of measuring a position of each corner of its cover by moving the product connector to a measuring position, a procedure of moving the product connector to an insertion position and positioning the inspection device by correcting a stopping position and a rotation angle the cover according to measured values, a procedure of pressing the product connector by a pressing part, releasing the holding state of the conveying tool, and stopping an insertion of the product connector for a moment when the tip of the connector is inserted into a guide part of an equipment connector of an inspection device, a procedure of confirming that the product connector is properly guided to the equipment connector by a sensor, and a procedure of inserting the product connector up to the final end and confirming a proper insertion with a sensor.
