PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact differential limiting device that can release a differential limiting function promptly even without initial torque applying means. SOLUTION: In this differential limiting device including friction clutch members 8 and 9 for generating differential limiting force between differential members 5 and 1, there are provided elastic members 10 and 11 for releasing the differential limiting force doubly in axial directions of the members 8 and 9, which enables the device to release the differential limiting force promptly and to be compact without an enlarged bulk in the axial direction even if an elastic member is placed to prevent occurrence of dragging torque of a multiple disk friction clutch member based on a cam function.
