PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator, which smoothly discharges a coating liquid from the tip of a tip at a first writing. SOLUTION: This applicator consists of a barrel 10, to which the tip 20 rotatably holding a spherical coating body 21 thereon is fitted through a joint 30, a coating liquid tank 40, which is arranged on the barrel, within which the coating liquid is charged, the tip opening of which is sealed with a plug 42 and the tail plug part 44 of which projects beyond the tail end opening of the barrel, and a cap 50 installed at the tip part of the barrel. The shape of the cross section of the tail plug part of the coating liquid tank is made into a special shape other than a circular shape. At the tail end side of the cap, a hole part 51 corresponding to the shape of the cross section of the tail plug part. At the first writing, by rotating the cap under the state that the hole part of the cap is fitted in the tail plug part of the coating liquid tank, the coating liquid tank advances and consequently the plug of the coating liquid tank is retracted by the tail end part of the joint, resulting in releasing the sealing of the tip opening and feeding the coating liquid in the coating liquid tank to the tip.
