PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform traveling along a tea ridge and to enhance automatic steering properties on a slope by installing a counter weight for offsetting turning force produced in a rotating shaft with gravity received by a detection plate when the tea ridge-straddling type tea reaping apparatus is located on the slope. SOLUTION: A tea reaping apparatus is composed so as to make the torque of the counterweight 7 for offsetting the turning force produced in the rotating shaft 62 with the gravity received by the detection plate 60 on the slope S act on the detection plate 60. Thereby, the rotation of the detection plate 60 is not inhibited by bending of the tea ridge T while avoiding the initiation of the rotation of the detection plate 60 with the gravity though the gravity acts on the detection plate 60 on the slope S. As a result, the traveling of the tea ridge-straddling type tea reaping apparatus 1 can be made accurate along the tea ridge T. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
