<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical sensor enabling the reduction in the number of components and easy manufacture and miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: A reference electrode 18 and a counter electrode 19 are printed on the lower surface of an electrolyte solution retention body 25 for retaining an electrolyte solution in an electrolyte solution storage section 2 of a case 3. The reference and counter electrodes 18 and 19 and the electrolyte solution retention body 25 are integrated for forming one component. The reference and counter electrodes 18 and 19 can be simultaneously formed in the electrolyte solution retention body 25. The number of components is reduced and the manufacture and miniaturization can be made easily. A detection electrode 17 is held between a substrate 22 and the electrolyte solution retention body 25 for arranging. The electrolyte solution retention body 25 is arranged in the case 3 so that the reference and counter electrodes 18 and 19 face the electrolyte solution in the electrolyte solution storage section 2 of the case 3.
