PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a video data incompletely recorded because of recording stop due to a power failure. SOLUTION: A personal video recorder (PVR) that records video data on a hard disk drive is controlled by a sub-microcomputer. When the sub-microcomputer is supplied with an electric power, it judges whether or not it contains a set flag, namely, whether or not it can not reset flag due to a power failure during the preceding video recording (S3). When the judgement reveals a power failure during the recording, it notifies the PVR to restore the data (S5). When the PVR receives the notification, it searches the incompletely recorded video file from the hard disk drive, and closes the searched video image file (F17). Further, it judges information on the reservation of video recording. When the time of reservation of the video recording remains, the video recording is continued according to the reserved information. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
