PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for artificial marble, which adapts to a measure against a volatile organic compound (VOC) and eliminates the fear of the occurrence of sick house syndrome caused by indoor air pollution, by eliminating residual styrene in the molded artificial marble. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the artificial marble, firstly, a resin composition, wherein additives such as a filler, a pattern material, an internal mold releasing agent and a curing agent are mixed into a thermoplastic resin, is obtained. Secondly, the resin composition is injected into a casting mold so that the artificial marble can be molded. Either heating treatment or decompression treatment is applied to the molded artificial marble so that the residual styrene can be eliminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
