PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correcting agent for a lithographic printing plate with which only a desired image part can be erased without giving adverse influences on the adjacent necessary image part, the image part can be quickly erased and no stain is left in the erased part. SOLUTION: The correcting agent for a lithographic printing plate contains at least one kind selected from compounds expressed by general formula (I) or general formula (II) : (R<SP>1</SP>O)<SB>4</SB>Si. In formulae (I) and (II), each of R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>independently represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; X represents a single bond, -N(R<SP>6</SP>)-, -N<SP>+</SP>(R<SP>7</SP>)(R<SP>8</SP>)-, -S- or -O-; Y represents amino group, hydroxy group, epoxy group, ureido group, carbamoyl group, carboxyl group, phosphonic acid group, phosphonate group, hydroxy alkyl group, sulfamoyl group, N-monoalkylsulfamoyl group, aromatic group having a substituent, or ammonium group.
