PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant recovery device capable of easily and safety performing the recovery of a combustible coolant with good transportability. SOLUTION: This coolant recovery device comprises a coolant recovery container 6 and an opening and closing valve 7 provided on the recovery container, one of which is connected to a connecting pipe 9 and the other to a valve 8 with perforating function. The capacity of the recovery container is determined according to the combustible range lower limit value of the coolant, the coolant charging quantity, the internal capacity of a refrigerator, the internal capacity of a refrigeration cycle and the coolant vapor density. Accordingly, even if the residual coolant in the refrigeration cycle is leaked into the refrigerator, it is within the combustible range lower limit value, and can be safely recovered.
