PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a walkway of prescribed width on a sidewalk even in snowfall so as not to block the passage of pedestrians regarding snow melting structure provided at the sidewalk in a snowfall region, and a ditch cover used for the structure. SOLUTION: A water flow ditch 3 is provided preferably in a road center side position rather than the road edge of the sidewalk 2, and a grated cover 5 provided with a sheet or thin plate like detachable cover plate 6 is mounted to the upper face of the water flow ditch. The cover plate 6 is removed before entering a snowfall season, and the cover plate 6 is put back when the snowfall season is over. The ditch cover for the snow melting ditch for facilitating the work, is provided with a cover body 5 of rectangular grated shape and the sheet or thin plate like cover plate 6 fixable to cover the upper face and front face of the cover body and suspendible downward with one side locked or connected to the cover body. The ditch cover of other structure is provided with the preferably flexible sheet or thin plate like cover plate 6 detachably fixable in the state of covering the cover body. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
