BIOSYNTHESIS PROMOTER AND ACTIVITY PROMOTER OF EPIDERMAL TRANSGLUTAMINASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biosynthesis and activity promoter of an epidermal transglutaminase, effective for reduction of symptoms of dry skin and atopic dermatosis, and amelioration of rough skin by normalizing epidermal keratinocytes by promoting the biosynthesis and activities of the transglutaminase at the epidermis. SOLUTION: The biosynthesis and activity promoter of the epidermal transglutaminase contains vitamin D2, vitamin D3or a derivative thereof as an active ingredient. Concretely, vitamin D's such as ergocalciferol, cholecalciferol, prergocalciferol, 5,6-trans-ergocalciferol, isoergocalciferol, isopiroergocalciferol, precholecalciferol, 5,6-trans-cholecalciferol, 25-hydroxycholecalciferol, 1α-hydroxycholecalciferol and 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol are used as the active ingredients.
