PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car airbag device for side impact for adequately mitigating shocks which are applied by the side impact to a waist portion and a chest portion of a seated occupant from a side wall of a car body. SOLUTION: The airbag device 10 comprises an airbag 11 disposed in a folded state between an occupant 4 seated in a seat 3 provided in a cabin 2 and a side wall 7 of a vehicle body 1, and a gas generator 13 to feed gas 12 ejected in the side impact into the airbag 11 and develops and inflates the airbag. The airbag 11 comprises a lower bag 17 corresponding to a waist portion 16 of the seated occupant 4 in the width direction of the vehicle body 1 and an upper bag 19 continuous to the lower bag 17 and corresponding to a chest portion 18 of the seated occupant 4. The upper bag 19 has a bag body 21 extending in a frame shape with each end thereof connected to the lower bag 17, and at least one end of the bag body 21 is communicated with the lower bag 17.
