PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion type gearing device with reduced friction loss. SOLUTION: A pressure guide 4 which is pressed against a rack track 11 by an elastic member 6 to movably support the rack 1 in the axial direction of the rack 1 by bringing a plurality of built-in rolling elements 5 into rolling contact with the rack track 11 is provided. Since the rack track 11 and the rolling elements 5 are brought into rolling friction with each other, friction loss can be reduced compared with the sliding friction of a conventional pressure pad.
