The invention relates to a motor vehicle seat comprising a backrest (1) with a backrest frame (3), in addition to a headrest (2) that is fixed to the backrest frame (3) by means of a connecting element (6). The inventive motor vehicle seat increases the safety of the vehicle occupants despite its simple construction. To achieve this, the headrest (2) is connected to the backrest frame (3). In addition, the former is positioned relative to the latter in such a way that in the event of a crash, the headrest supports the head of a vehicle occupant in a position further forward than the upper body of the occupant, thus suppressing a relative movement between the head and upper body during the crash. This is achieved by padding in the backrest, which permits the upper body of the occupant to sink into the backrest in the event of a crash. |
