The toy vehicle has an axle (9) per steerable wheel (4) about which it can rotate, each axle being rotatable about a vertical pivot axis, a drive journal on the inside of each axle, a steering wheel or rotary knob (5) mounted on the chassis with a steering column (6) and a steering plate (7) with drive journals connected to the column. Steering plate drive journals pass through a drive slot so rotary motion of the rotary knob is transferred to the wheels.
