Automatic chromatographic analysis of samples

Chromatographic analysis of samples in a column chromatograph is carried out by (a) actuating a sampling device (5) by an operation start signal to transfer a known sample into the chromatography (3, 4) for obtaining a chromatogram; (b) locating a peak, corresp. to a component to be measured, on the chromatogram in order to adjust the width of the peak time window; (c) transferring an unknown sample into the chromatograph to obtain a chromatogram; and (d) using the adjusted time window on the unknown sample chromatogram for identification of a component.
