<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing system having a porous ink jet receiving body designed specially for a pigment based ink which has a high ink absorbing speed and generates long-lasting images at high concentration. <P>SOLUTION: The ink jet recording system contains a pigment based ink to be used combined with recording elements having a thin upper surface layer and a lower porous substrate. In this case, the recording elements have the relatively thin surface layer which traps pigment particles from the pigment based ink adapted in the surface or near the surface without excessively restricting the ink from flowing into the lower porous substrate, and the porous substrate with relatively larger fine holes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
