<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which has at least two adjacent stirring screws arranged in parallel with a developer carrier, paths for guiding the movement of developer composed of toner and carrier along the respective stirring screws and partitioned each other, an aperture through which the adjacent paths communicate, and a toner replenishing means for replenishing with toner in order to maintain the concentration of the developer, which is made such a type one that the developer is stirred while making it circulate along the paths and the aperture and the stirred developer is supplied to the developer carrier, and where the toner for replenishing and the developer retaining in the developing device are surely mixed in a state where failure is not made by a very easy method. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing device, the rotating direction of the stirring screw 2 replenished with the toner is temporarily made reverse after toner replenishing operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
