<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce problems such as fogging, scattering and diffused transfer due to a heterogeneous toner or the like, to enhance transfer efficiency, to dispense with a cleaner and to diminish waste toner. <P>SOLUTION: In the developing method in which a single component nonmagnetic toner carried by a developer carrier is charged by press-regulating with a regulating member, and the charge is imparted to an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier to convert the latent image to a visible image as a toner image, in the case that the particle size and charge amount of each toner particle of the single component nonmagnetic toner after press regulation by the regulating member are measured by a laser Doppler method in an oscillating field in an acoustic relaxation cell, when the width of particle size distribution of the single component nonmagnetic toner is represented by A [μm] and the width of charge amount distribution of the single component nonmagnetic toner by B [fC], control is performed so as to satisfy B/A≤1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
