<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop optical film capable which can form a liquid crystal display having excellent thin and light weight properties, which can efficiently perform optical path conversion of colorless light made incident from sides and corner parts of a liquid crystal display panel in the visual recognizing direction, and the illumination light of which is difficult to be colored, is bright, and has excellent uniformity, and with which the liquid crystal display can be easily viewed. <P>SOLUTION: The optical film (1) having a plurality of light emission means (A) consisting of a recessed part having an optical path conversion slope (a) of which the inclination angle to the film surface is 35 to 48 degrees on one surface of transparent film (1B) consisting of polymer of which the absolute value of an photoelastic coefficient is equal to or less than 10 x 10<SP>-12</SP>m<SP>2</SP>/N is provided. The liquid crystal display is constituted by arranging the optical film at least on one side of a liquid crystal cell in a liquid crystal display panel and in the liquid crystal display, the difference of refraction indexes between the transparent film of the optical film and a nearby liquid crystal cell substrate is -0.02 to 0.04 is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
