PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair whose front casters can easily be lifted only by allowing the user of the wheelchair to lean backward. SOLUTION: This six-wheel type wheelchair consists of a wheelchair body part and a movable part. The wheelchair body part consists of: a back frame 12 having a backrest part 11; a side frame 14 having a seat part 13; a front frame 16 having foot rests 15 at its lower part; and a lower frame 18 having front casters 17 at its front part. In the movable part, a large wheel support frame 23 having a rotary shaft 20, a moving shaft 22 and an axle 21 is nearly vertically, rotatably and pivotally attached to large wheels 19, a rear side upper frame 24 and a rear side lower frame 25 are attached backward to the frame 23 and a rear caster 26 is fixed to the connection part of both of the end parts of it. The wheelchair body part is pivotally attached to the rotary shaft of the movable part, one end of an extensible member 27 is pivotally attached to the lower end part of the back frame 12, and the other end of the extensible member 27 is pivotally attached to the rear side lower frame 25.
