PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize excellent battery characteristics by preventing an outside electrode from being peeled off when inserting it and by preventing an active material from falling, in a square battery formed by inserting a group of electrodes formed by laminating negative electrode plates, separators, and positive electrode plates in a case can. SOLUTION: In this square battery, the group of electrodes formed by alternately laminating one side electrode plates and the other side electrode plates wherein active materials are carried by respective core bodies through the separators are stored in the square-shaped case can with a bottom. The core bodies of the one side electrodes located at the outermost side of the group of electrodes are integrally or continuously connected each other on the bottom part of the case can.
