PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a mouse pointer only by operations for a key-pad, using single cable connection, without applying a load onto a connected computer. SOLUTION: A normal mode and a mouse mode are switched therebetween based on the prescribed operation for a prescribed key on the key-pad, and a USB control signal corresponding to a usual key input is generated based on the operation for the key on the key-pad, in the normal mode. A USB control signal for controlling the mouse pointer is generated based on the operations for the prescribed paired keys on the key-pad, in the mouse mode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
