PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient correction processing on reject characters, in character reading from a mixture of a plurality of types of forms. SOLUTION: With means for specifying a type of form for correction processing on reject characters, an operator continuously executes correction processing in forms of the specified type. In character reading from a mixture of a plurality of types of forms, correction processing on reject characters can be executed continuously only in forms of the same type, so that the efficiency of correction processing can be remarkably increased.
