PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which is small in size and is nevertheless capable of detecting a plurality of movements with one sensor at a low cost without impairing the accuracy/reliability of detection. SOLUTION: When barrier blades 172 are driven by a barrier driving member 173, a reflection member 175a rotationally moved together with the member 173 is situated to the front of a PR (Photoreflector) 113. A shutter blade 171 or zoom detecting blade 176 is interposed between the member 175a and the PR 113 in the state of holding the PR 113 in a photodetecting state to change the output of the PR 113. The opening and closing detection of the barrier blade 172, the opening and closing detection of the shutter blade 171 and the detection of the extension position of a lens barrel 170 according to the zoom operation are sequentially conducted by the one PR 113.
