The propulsion drive has a hydropump and a control block (9a) supplying the hydraulic fluid to at least 2 hydromotors driving respective automobile wheels, each of the latter having a spin prevention device, controlling a throttle valve (10a,10b) in dependence on the detected wheel rotation, for reducing the volumetric flow to the hydromotor upon detection of a wheel rotation rate above that of the other wheels. An auxiliary setting valve (11a,11b) associated with each throttle valve responds to a maximum hydraulic fluid pressure being reached for lifting the throttling.
