<p>A latch (20), mountable to a vehicle door, has a latch bolt (28) engaged with a striker (22) mountable to either a vehicle body or a second vehicle door. An abutment surface (35) of the latch engages the complementary surface (58) of the striker to prevent relative movement between the latch and the striker at a direction normal to a preset plane when in a latched condition. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a door of vehicle incorporating the latch or striker; and (b) a striker.</p> |
