Optical disk drive with increased recording efficiency

An optical disk drive is provided wherein data is recorded in high-density recording mode onto a recordable disk based on a common first standard with the data to be recorded generated by a second recording signal processor (13). When the data to be recorded is audio data based on the first standard, the audio data is recorded with an addition of an error detection code and an error correction code according to the second standard, and is recorded while the audio data is reassigned to sectors corresponding to the amount of user data of the second standard. Although an empty capacity for user data in a final sector of a unit of recording occurs because of the reassignment, this area is filled with specific data.
