PURPOSE: An E1 board having a multi-protocol is provided to connect a system to various networks by loading various kinds of protocols on one E-1 board and processing data by using the protocols related to corresponding links on the basis of the protocols and orientation for links. CONSTITUTION: An E1 board having a multi-protocol includes a main control unit(10), a third layer protocol switch(20), a direction change unit, and a first layer protocol switch(90). The main control unit(10) decides protocols for each link according to an operator's assignment. The third layer protocol switch(20) is used for receiving data from the main control unit and transmitting the received data to one of a trunk protocol process unit(30), an ISDN PRI protocol process unit, and a V5.2 protocol process unit. The direction change unit changes input/output flags of the data, which are received, from the trunk protocol process unit(30), the ISDN PRI protocol process unit, and the V5.2 protocol process unit. The first layer protocol switch(90) is used for receiving data from a link and transmitting the received data to one of the trunk protocol process unit(30), the ISDN PRI protocol process unit, and the V5.2 protocol process unit.
