Optical fiber with Bragg grating

The optical fiber (20) includes a cladding (24), which surrounds a core (22) consisting of silica. The core is doped with about 6 molecule-percent germanium and at least about 0.9 weight-percent fluorine. The cladding is coated with a polymer coating (26). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an optical fiber utilization method in fabrication of fiber Bragg grating; and (b) a fiber Bragg grating fabricating method.
