Process for the recovery of methanol from a liquid hydrocarbon feedstock

Methanol is recovered from a liquid hydrocarbon feed by distilling a liquid hydrocarbon phase to isolate a gas phase comprising methanol-hydrocarbon azeotropes, mixing the obtained gas phase with water, and separating the obtained mixture into a methanol-rich aqueous phase and a methanol-poor hydrocarbon phase. The hydrocarbon phase is recycled to the first step.
