PURPOSE: Provided is a device for driving hoops of an embroidery machine which has a longitudinal length significantly reduced compared to the common linear motor while exerting the same driving power as that with the latter, thereby preventing the embroidery machine with the linear motor from being enlarged. CONSTITUTION: An embroidery machine has an X axial driving unit for moving the embroidery hoops in the X axial direction, a Y axial driving unit for moving the hoops in the Y axial direction, and a linear motor(100) functioning as a power supply for the X axial driving unit and the Y axial driving unit. The linear motor comprises plural rows of stators(120) installed on base plates(110) mounted at the respective driving units, and plungers(150) spaced apart from the stators in a corresponding manner such that they can move over the stators. |
