Method and apparatus for welding with constant voltage control

The method involves providing a cyclical CV output having a voltage, and dividing each cycle into two segments. An output parameter is sampled multiple times within one of the segments, wherein the CV output is controlled within one segment in response to the sampling performed within the segment. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a welding power supply, (b) a system for providing welding power.
