PURPOSE: Provided is a method for controlling the operation of a kimchi refrigerator which drives a compressor by force for the temperature of the refrigerator to reach to the target temperature within proper period of time, when the temperature of the refrigerator is higher than a predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the operation of a kimchi refrigerator is characterized by comprising the steps of: determining if a compressor is under forced driving condition when starting a storage mode; driving the compressor by force under the forced driving condition; stopping the driving of the compressor when the temperature of a receptacle is lower than the lowest limit of the compressor controlling temperature, and starting a storage mode when it is higher than the highest limit of the compressor controlling temperature.
