A knitting fabric having a set-up portion comprising front and rear stitches formed by knitting fabric-constituting knitting yarns that extend in zigzag forms from front to rear stitches and from rear to front stitches, wherein a knitting yarn portion (15a) extending from each front stitch to each rear stitch and a knitting yarn portion (15b) extending from the each rear stitch to continuing each front stitch cross each other to thereby make the set-up portion more compact than conventional ones.
