The closure for a bay formed in the bodywork window of a motor vehicle has a movable pivoting panel. The closure has a fixed mounting (3) attached to the vehicle bodywork and the panel can slide with respect to the fixed mounting. The panel slides in guiding supports (32a,32b) mounted on the fixed mounting. The panel can pivot between a closed condition flush with the mounting and an open pivoted position.
