Slide member composition comprising thermoset, PTFE, bismuth and/or an alkaline earth salt

A sliding member composition comprising a thermosetting resin as a base resin, preferably a phenolic resin in a proportion of 50 to 80 vol% and adding thereto a PTFE with a molecular weight of 3,000,000 or more in a proportion of 10 to 40 vol% and bismuth and/or a bismuth alloy in a proportion of 1 to 20 vol%. A further embodiment comprises an alkaline earth metal salt instead of bismuth. A further embodiment comprises an alkaline earth and bismuth. Also disclosed is a sliding member using said compositions as a coating.
